Magdalena von Rudy shows works in interplay with works by Oliver Gather. Both artists studied sculpture and extended their sculptural-spatial practice to the cinematic medium. Von Rudy’s two-channel video installation “BUG HUNTING AKA FURIOUS GAMES” shows, in various image combinations, teenage gamers speaking texts from their favorite movies in front of the backdrops of their video games. The YouTube-like aesthetic of overlaying multiple layers of images and sound creates an allegorical approach to an important part of their life reality. “STEAM AND HAZE” by Oliver Gather uses documentary elements to portray a street in Mönchengladbach-Rheydt. Three workplaces in the immediate neighborhood are linked in the video to create a bizarre scene between the taste of cake and steam.

In the forest, hunters erect two high perches directly opposite each other. A kind of ethnographic observation about hunting and its fragile traditions unfolds around this hunterly absurd installation.
